WE HELP CHILDREN
MAKE DREAMS COME TRUE

Uganda based privately organised aid organisation for children by Christina & Bode

About us

MAKING A DIFFERENCE – TOGETHER

From August to October 2023, I spent 3 months in Uganda via Workaways. It was another step towards my dream. My wish was to immerse myself completely in life there, in everything, and to get in touch with the local people.

Thanks to donations from kind and generous people in Germany, we bought a sterilization machine for a little hospital and gave out school materials to school children.

I soon started to develop my own ideas, which my Ugandan friends helped me to realize.

N

We distributed bags of food, each with a worth of 20 euros, to 12 families with many children.

N

Once a week, we brought joy to around 50 street children at the supermarket in Mbale with bread, apples and a small sweet that I had lovingly made for them.

N
We organized a party for all the children from the neighbourhood, with a special meal for the children, with music and dancing, with balloons and gummy bears.
N
We bought clothes for 3 children.
N
And I took over the school sponsorship for Stecia, a girl who I took to my heart on my first walk in Uganda and who I love very much.
It was Bode who took care of Stecia when I was back in Germany. He made sure that Stecia had everything she needs for school and boarding school. He made sure that she was able to visit her family during her holidays and traveled the long distance with her on the bus both times. Bode made sure that Stecia is doing well.

I met Bode, when I was in Uganda for the first time in 2023.
I soon experienced how lovingly Bode treats children. This infinite love that emanates from him, for all the people around him and especially for children, touched my heart deeply.
We soon realized that we share the same deep love to the children and that we have a shared vision and a shared dream for the children in Uganda and decided to change something together and to make a difference together.

Love,
Christina & Bode

The founder

There is still so much more to do in Uganda. There is a lack everywhere, a lack of education, food, clothing, shelter and love. There are so many more children who would be happy to receive support, so many more children who wish a chance of a better life.

I wanted to immerse myself completely in life in Uganda. I am there, I have arrived, where I always wished to be.

I am Christina from Germany.

As a young girl, I saw starving African children in the news, with big bellies, thin arms and skinny legs.

That touched me so much and affected me so deeply that it was very clear to me at that moment: “When I have been grown up, I will go to Africa and help the children there!”

This wish has accompanied me my whole life over all the years.
There were some opportunities to take the first steps, however – at that time – I did not have enough courage.

Life had other plans for me, including strokes of fate such as the illness and death of my mum.

Now, my time has come to fulfill my wishes and dreams and I am going to Uganda, forever, to help the children and to be there for them.

Me, my heart and my soul are so infinitely happy! I am there, I have arrived, where I always wished to be.

I would like to dedicate my life to being a guardian for those who are unfortunate to not have parents or someone else.

Innocence is often exploited, especially in children, whose natural state is happiness and joy. Seeing these children denied the chance to simply be carefree and happy pains me deeply. Their innocence has inspired me to dedicate my life to protecting them and ensuring they are not exploited. My goal is to support these joyful little ones, allowing them to live the life they deserve – a life filled with happiness, joy, and brighter days.

Mission & Vision

We would like to make a difference

In Uganda, thousands of children face significant barriers to accessing a quality education, which in turn limits their potential and future opportunities. Despite these challenges, we firmly believe that every child deserves the chance to thrive, irrespective of their background or circumstances.

Our aim is to facilitate access to quality education, essential resources and life-changing opportunities for children in Uganda.

By doing so, we aspire to empower them to break the cycle of poverty and realize their full potential.

It’s about love

We would like a better life for all the poor and disadvantaged children in Uganda, a life …

in love and security,

in which every child can shine brightly,
in which every child can discover and develop their full potential,
full of opportunities and possibilities,
full of wonderful dreams.

We also would like every child to be seen, heard and taken seriously and to feel comfortable.

It is about appreciation, encouragement, self-confidence, strengthening their abilities and the belief that everything is possible in life if you go for it.
It is about hope.

And above all, it is about love!

Every child is valuable!

We would like to make a difference!

We would like to give our love to the children and let them shine brightly.

Our DREAM is to give all the poor and disadvantaged children
the chance to shine and to MAKE their DREAMS COME TRUE.

education program | Uganda

All the groundwork has been laid to support children and we are now very proud to be able to provide help by making it possible for two girls to attend a good school for this school year. With your help, we are planning on helping more children and making sure their upcoming school fees and supplies are paid.

Even the smallest help makes a big difference in a child’s life.

Beyonce (15 years)

This young lady lives with her aunt and – due to donations – has been going to Malaba Secondary School, an all-day school, since March 2024 and is in Secondary 1.

How to help Beyoncé
With your financial support, we can enable the teenager to continue attending school and graduate – breaking out of the cycle of poverty and live a better and “brighter” life full of opportunities for her future life.

What we need for this year (2024)

  • We still need  200 euro  to pay the school fees for the third and therefore last semester of this year.
  • For Beyonce, we also still need  60 euros  for school materials, for special seminars at her school which cost fees, for some food and, if necessary, for a new school uniform.

What we need for next year (2025)

  •  600 euro  for school fees
  •  150 euro  (50 euros for each semester) for school materials, school uniform and special seminars at her school which cost fees
  •  75 euro  (25 euros for each semester) for reusable sanitary towels, soap, new clothes and shoes
  •  60 euro  (20 euros for each semester) for some food

Stecia (9 years)

Stecia is the only girl among 10 brothers. With your financial support she is now attending St. Paul Primary School in Mukono since February 2024 and is in Primary 2.

How to help Stecia
As the school is very far from her home, she lives in a boarding school. With your support, we can continue to finance Stecia’s school education for the next few years and provide the young girl with school materials.

What we need for this year (2024)

  • We still need  60 euros  to buy school materials, a new school uniform and small items such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, possibly new clothes and shoes and some food that she will need at boarding school in the third and final semester of this year.
  • An additional  40 euros  will enable her, together with an accompanying adult, to visit her family in Kamonkoli during her holidays and to return to her boarding school after the holidays.

What we need for next year (2025)

  •  400 euro  euros for school fees
  •  75 euro  (25 euros for each semester) for school materials and for school uniforms
  •  60 euro  (20 euros for each semester) for things of daily life in the boarding school, as toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, new clothes and shoes
  •  150 euro  (50 euros for each semester) for some food
  •  120 euro  (40 euros for each semester) will enable her to visit her family in Kamonkoli with an accompanying person on the bus trips during all 3 holidays and the return trips back to school in Mukono

Sarah (6 years)

Sarah has albinism. As her father has a lot of children, he cannot afford the school fees for Sarah. Help us to support this bright and curious girl.

How to help Sarah
Enabling school attendance and proper management of her health requirements would be a great help in allowing Sarah to lead a wonderful life.

What we need for next year (2025)
The exact costs will be calculated and will follow when we have found an adequate school for her together with Sarah and her parents.

Other projects

Help where it is needed the most

‘Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world. ‘
– Nelson Mandela

This wonderful quote also speaks in favour of our commitment to start exactly where it has the strongest power to bring about change. It is the children who experience hope, are allowed to learn and can change the world as a result – on a small or large scale.

However, in order to be able to concentrate fully on learning, several factors go hand in hand. The feeling of being safe, having enough to eat and drink, feeling loved. Things that we sometimes take for granted.

That is why, in addition to our school education programmes for children, our plans also include other projects for communites.

We want to encourage people to discover and explore new paths. New paths that are good for them and their fellow human beings and have a lasting effect.

Purpose of use

What your donation is used for

Here you can see a small list of our current and upcoming needs for the work of our organisation in addition to the support for the children.

Poultry Farming

Poultry Farming

Our desire and goal for the near future is to operate a poultry farm, from the proceeds of which we could fund other activities such as sponsorships and community programmes.

More about our plans for poultry farming

Our next step is to set up a poultry farm where income is generated to support other activities such as sponsorships and community programs.

Examples:

  • for outstanding school fees, school materials, school uniforms for the children whose school attendance we support
  • for school materials and school uniforms for disadvantaged children from our village in Kasambya
  • for necessary medical care for the disadvantaged children in our village in Kasambya.

We would like to keep different types of chicken on our chicken farm:

  • chicks that we raise up and feed for 6 weeks to sell them as broilers to restaurants, hotels and private individuals.
  • local chicken that lay eggs to sell on the one hand and on the other hand to grow our farm by giving birth to new chicks.
  • turkeys that we want to keep so that we can sell them during the Christmas season.

Future plans

In future, we also plan to provide training in poultry farming techniques, management practices, and access to quality chicks and feed, empowering local farmers to enhance their productivity and income.

Commercial Farming

Farming

Growing our own food is the next step in our work. It comes with several benefits.

More about our agricultural plans

Farming

Also a next step is to grow our own food. On the one hand to be able to provide for ourselves and on the other hand to be able to supply surrounding schools with food from the surplus.
For this step we need various types of seeds and gardening and work tools.

We are happy to keep you up to date on how our agricultural projects are progressing in our blog. Of course, we would be delighted if you could make a donation to help us get a little closer to realising these projects.

Future Plans

Commercial Farming: Another initiative we are planning includes training local farmers in modern agricultural and gardening techniques, the provision of seeds and tools and support in accessing new markets.

Community Gardens: We establish gardens that provide fresh produce for local consumption and serve as educational sites for sustainable farming practices.

Community Gardens

Sports Academy

We hope to run sports academies that focus on developing young talents in various sports, promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and discipline. The current game that we engage in is football (soccer) with other games to be introduced soon.

More about our plans for the Sports Academy

At Brighter Days Africa, we believe that every child has a unique talent waiting to be discovered. Our mission is to provide a platform where young people can explore their interests and talents, particularly through the dynamic world of sports. We are dedicated to helping children uncover their potential, build confidence, and achieve their dreams through the power of athletic endeavor.
