MAKE DREAMS COME TRUE

Supporting children in Uganda Africa with your help

About us

MAKING A DIFFERENCE – TOGETHER

From August to October 2023, I spent 3 months in Uganda via Workaway. It was another step towards my dream. My wish was to immerse myself completely in life there, in everything, and to get in touch with the local people.

Thanks to donations from kind and generous people in Germany, we bought a sterilization machine for a little hospital and gave out school materials to school children.

I soon started to develop my own ideas, which my Ugandan friends helped me to realize.

Christina & Bode, founder of Brighter Days Africa

N

We distributed bags of food, each with a worth of 20 euros, to 12 families with many children.

N

Once a week, we brought joy to around 50 street children at the supermarket in Mbale with bread, apples and a small sweet that I had lovingly made for them.

N
We organized a party for all the children from the neighbourhood, with a special meal for the children, with music and dancing, with balloons and gummy bears.
N
We bought clothes for 3 children.
N
And I took over the school sponsorship for Stecia, a girl who I took to my heart on my first walk in Uganda and who I love very much.
It was Bode who took care of Stecia when I was back in Germany. He made sure that Stecia had everything she needs for school and boarding school. He made sure that she was able to visit her family during her holidays and traveled the long distance with her on the bus both times. Bode made sure that Stecia is doing well.

I met Bode, when I was in Uganda for the first time in 2023.
I soon experienced how lovingly Bode treats children. This infinite love that emanates from him, for all the people around him and especially for children, touched my heart deeply.
We soon realized that we share the same deep love to the children and that we have a shared vision and a shared dream for the children in Uganda and decided to change something together and to make a difference together.

Love,
Christina & Bode

The founder

There is still so much more to do in Uganda. There is a lack everywhere, a lack of education, food, clothing, shelter and love. There are so many more children who would be happy to receive support, so many more children who wish a chance of a better life.

I wanted to immerse myself completely in life in Uganda. I am there, I have arrived, where I always wished to be.

I am Christina from Germany.

As a young girl, I saw starving African children in the news, with big bellies, thin arms and skinny legs.

That touched me so much and affected me so deeply that it was very clear to me at that moment: “When I have been grown up, I will go to Africa and help the children there!”

This wish has accompanied me my whole life over all the years.
There were some opportunities to take the first steps, however – at that time – I did not have enough courage.

Life had other plans for me, including strokes of fate such as the illness and death of my mum.

Now, my time has come to fulfill my wishes and dreams and I am going to Uganda, forever, to help the children and to be there for them.

Me, my heart and my soul are so infinitely happy! I am there, I have arrived, where I always wished to be.

I would like to dedicate my life to being a guardian for those who are unfortunate to not have parents or someone else.

Innocence is often exploited, especially in children, whose natural state is happiness and joy. Seeing these children denied the chance to simply be carefree and happy pains me deeply. Their innocence has inspired me to dedicate my life to protecting them and ensuring they are not exploited. My goal is to support these joyful little ones, allowing them to live the life they deserve – a life filled with happiness, joy, and brighter days.

Mission & Vision

We would like to make a difference

In Uganda, thousands of children face significant barriers to accessing a quality education, which in turn limits their potential and future opportunities. Despite these challenges, we firmly believe that every child deserves the chance to thrive, irrespective of their background or circumstances.

Our aim is to facilitate access to quality education, essential resources and life-changing opportunities for children in Uganda.

By doing so, we aspire to empower them to break the cycle of poverty and realize their full potential.

It’s about love

We would like a better life for all the poor and disadvantaged children in Uganda, a life …

in love and security,

in which every child can shine brightly,
in which every child can discover and develop their full potential,
full of opportunities and possibilities,
full of wonderful dreams.

We also would like every child to be seen, heard and taken seriously and to feel comfortable.

It is about appreciation, encouragement, self-confidence, strengthening their abilities and the belief that everything is possible in life if you go for it.
It is about hope.

And above all, it is about love!

Every child is valuable!

We would like to make a difference!

We would like to give our love to the children and let them shine brightly.

Our DREAM is to give all the poor and disadvantaged children
the chance to shine and to MAKE their DREAMS COME TRUE.

Values

Your donation, your impact

At Brighter Days Africa, we believe that trust grows through honesty. That’s why we make our financial processes open and easy to follow. Every donation is documented, every project is explained, and every result is shared.

From financing important educational opportunities for our children, providing school supplies, clothing, and food, to additional projects. We want to be transparent about how your donation is used.

Learn about our diverse ongoing aid measures and find out in the next section what future plans we can put into action with your support.

What your donation is used for

Support our children

‘Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world. ‘
– Nelson Mandela

This wonderful quote also speaks in favour of our commitment to start exactly where it has the strongest power to bring about change. It is the children who experience hope, are allowed to learn and can change the world as a result – on a small or large scale.

However, in order to be able to concentrate fully on learning, several factors go hand in hand. The feeling of being safe, having enough to eat and drink, feeling loved. Things that we sometimes take for granted.

At the moment, we are able to make it possible for two girls to attend a good school for this school year.
With your help, we are planning on helping more children and making sure their upcoming school fees and supplies are paid.

Scholarships

We offer scholarships to underprivileged children to ensure that financial barriers do not hinder their access to quality education.

School Supplies and Uniforms

We distribute essential school supplies and uniforms to needy students, ensuring they have the tools for successful learning.

Meet our children

Stecia (11 years)

Stecia is the only girl among 10 brothers. Leaving her with her family without a good education would most likely mean that Stecia would have to drop out of school and get married to start a family.

With your financial support she is now attending St. Paul Primary School in Mukono since February 2024 and is in Primary 3.

How to help Stecia

As the school is very far from her home, she lives in a boarding school.
With your support, we could continue to finance Stecia’s school education for the next few years.

What your money is needed for:

  • school fees
  • school uniforms
  • school materials
  • food like bread, butter, sugar, biscuits, cookies, soda, milk powder for all three Visitation Days and for all three terms to bring variety in her meals at school which are always the same
  • things of daily life like toothbrush, toothpaste, bathing soap, soap, vasiline, detergent, toilet paper, shoe polish, shoe brush for all three terms
  • clothes and shoes
  • sometimes a new towel, bedcover, bedsheets, mosquito net, mattress
  • transportation to her family during holidays and back to school again – 6 times a year

Blog post: The school system in Uganda

Sarah (7 years)

Sarah has albinism. She needs special care for her skin and her eyes. Sarah is a very curious girl. As her father has a lot of children, he cannot afford the school fees for Sarah.

Since May 2025, she is now attending St. Paul Primary School in Mukono and is in Middle Class.

How to help Sarah

As the school is very far from her home, she lives in a boarding school.
With your support, we could continue to finance Sarah’s school education for the next few years.

  • school fees
  • school uniforms

Blog post: The school system in Uganda

Beyonce (16 years)

Unfortunately it is not possible anymore for us to continue to support Beyonce because of a lack of money.

With your financial support, we could send her back to school again to continue attending school and graduate – breaking out of the cycle of poverty and live a better and “brighter” life full of opportunities for her future life.

Jacky & Promise

Jacky & Promise

Their father left the family and their mother lost her job. So these two girls had to leave school because the school fees couldn`t be paid anymore.

With your financial support, we could send these two smart girls back to school again.

Beatrice & Paul

Beatrice & Paul

Their father, a very good doctor from Shawin Foundation Hospital, suddenly died in August 2024. With his death all of us lost a wonderful man who helped a lot of people. Without his income his wife can’t pay the school fees for her 7 children anymore.

So, we would like to give the love back which „Uncle Paul“ gave to us and a lot of people during his life time, and would like to support his children and give them a chance for a better and brighter life.

Purpose of use

Ongoing & future projects

Here you can see a small list of our current and upcoming needs for the work of our organisation in addition to the support for the children.

Poultry farming in Uganda | Christina taking care of the chickens

Poultry Farming

Our desire and goal to operate a poultry farm, the proceeds from which we could use to finance other activities such as sponsorships, has taken shape.

Today, our small dream has grown into a lively home for 75 chickens, hens, roosters, fluffy chicks and even one curious little turkey.

Every feeder we fill, every egg we collect and every chick that hatches is part of this mission.

More about our chicken farm

Our Chicken Farm – A Story of Growth and Giving

In August 2024, we took a leap of faith and started our chicken farm with just 30 local birds.
It wasn’t easy in the early days, we lost many tiny chicks to predators like birds of prey and cats, and even to chicken pox. But we didn’t give up. Today, our small dream has grown into a lively home for 75 chickens, hens, roosters, fluffy chicks and even one curious little turkey.

Our farm isn’t just about chickens, it’s about people. The income, we hope to make in the future, shall help us:

  • to pay school fees and buy uniforms for children who would otherwise miss out on education.
  • to provide school materials for disadvantaged children in our village, Kasambya.
  • to cover medical care for vulnerable children in our community.

Every feeder we fill, every egg we collect and every chick that hatches is part of this mission.

Where We’re Heading

We dream of a farm that can sustain itself and give back even more to our community.
With your support, we hope to:

  • Grow our flock so we can sell more eggs and occasionally some chickens.
  • Create custom egg trays with our farm’s logo and a picture of our happy hens.
  • Plant grass, flowers and herbs in our outdoor area so our chickens can scratch and peck at natural food again.
  • Buy more feeders and drinkers to keep our growing flock healthy.
  • Expand and renovate our chicken house to give more space and separate laying hens from brooding hens, protecting eggs and ensuring healthy chicks.

Our Little Paradise

We took over an old chicken house from Bode’s uncle, cleaned and disinfected it, and made it our own. Now it has coffee peels for soft bedding, raised wooden perches for night roosting and neat nesting boxes fixed to the walls.
Outside, we built a fenced garden where our chickens can wander safely. There’s a low cover so chicks can’t slip out, and a small extra house just for our brooding hens to sit in peace. Next to it, a tiny storage room holds the feed some of which we grow ourselves by planting maize in our fields.

It’s simple, but it’s ours. And it’s changing lives, one egg at a time.

If you would like to walk with us on this journey, your support will help feed our chickens, grow our farm and give more children in Kasambya and Uganda at large a brighter future.

Sports Academy Uganda

Sports Academy

We hope to run a sports academy in the future that focus on developing young talents in various sports, promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and discipline. The current game that we engage in is football (soccer).

We start slowly, step by step. Every now and then, Bode goes to a public soccer field to play football (soccer) with some children.

What is needed to make the next step?

  • football (soccer) equipment such as good footballs and football clothes and shoes for the children amongst others
  • refreshments for the children for during and after the training
More about our plans for the Sports Academy
At Brighter Days Africa, we believe that every child has a unique talent waiting to be discovered. Our mission is to provide a platform where young people can explore their interests and talents, particularly through the dynamic world of sports. We are dedicated to helping children uncover their potential, build confidence, and achieve their dreams through the power of athletic endeavor.

We provide people with clothes

Clothing for children, toys, and school supplies

It is the little things which make children in Uganda happy and bring a big smile in their faces.

They love balloons, soap bubbles and gummy bears.
For them, small things like toy cars or little stuffed animals are things that make them happy because they are very special to them.

They wear second-hand everyday and sports clothes with pride, because most of their shirts and shorts are old, worn out and full of holes.

School materials such as notebooks, pencils and sharpeners, which we distribute in schools, enable the children to actively participate in class.

It’s the little things that count and are valuable.

Every time I am in Germany for a short visit, I collect clothes, sportswear, small toys and school supplies for the children in Uganda.

I am grateful for any support that will enable me to take all these things to Uganda in two extra suitcases (transport costs = 450 euros) for the children.

With your help, collecting these things for me, but most of all your financial support, I will be able to continue with bringing all these things to the children in Uganda.

Help us raise money for a transportation possibility

Transportation

In our work, every journey matters.
Whether it’s delivering chicken feed to our farm, carrying donations to families in need or visiting our sponsored children at their boarding schools on visitation day, having a reliable way to travel is essential.

The truth is, our community is spread out. Markets, villages and schools aren’t just around the corner and without a reliable car, each trip takes more time, more energy and often more money than we can afford.

A vehicle isn’t just transport for us, it’s a bridge.

It connects our farm to the market, our donations to the people who need them and our hearts to the children we support.

Your support can help, keep us on the road, making it possible to reach more people, respond faster in times of need and continue building a stronger, more connected community.

Project of Brighter Days Africa: Tripple “H” Infants School in Kasamby

Tripple “H” Infants School

Education is one of the most powerful tools to break the cycle of poverty and build a brighter future.

Tripple “H” Infants School, located in Kasambya, is a small nursery school with three dedicated teachers and approximately 50 children. Despite the teachers’ commitment and the children’s eagerness to learn, the school faces serious challenges that limit the quality of education provided.

More about Tripple “H” Infants School in Kasambya

Current Situation

The school currently has three classrooms, but only one has a few small tables and no chairs. The other two classrooms lack furniture entirely, forcing children to sit on mats on the floor during lessons.

For meals, the children receive only a cup of porridge each day, which is insufficient for their nutritional and physical needs.

The classrooms and sanitary facilities are also in urgent need of renovation to create a safer and more child-friendly environment.

In November 2024, we organized a small celebration for the children. On that day, they enjoyed bread and milk for breakfast, and a special lunch of rice, potatoes, matooke, chicken, meat, cake and a soft drink. The children were overjoyed, not only by the food but also by the games, balloons, soap bubbles and small gifts such as books, pencils and sharpeners. This event demonstrated how even small efforts can bring immense happiness and encouragement to these young learners.

Areas of Support Needed

To provide a better learning environment and improve the welfare of the children, we are seeking support in the following areas:

1. Furniture & Learning Materials

  • Chairs, tables and chalkboards for all three classrooms
  • Books, pencils, colored pencils, erasers, sharpeners and other school supplies

2. School Feeding Program

  • Bread and milk for breakfast
  • Nutritious lunch meals including matooke, posho, rice, potatoes, vegetables, meat and clean drinking water

3. Infrastructure Improvements

  • Renovation of classrooms to create a safe and child-friendly learning environment
  • Repair and improvement of sanitary facilities

4. Annual Children’s Celebration

  • Support to organize a yearly party with special food, games and small gifts at the end of the school year in November

5. Play & Recreational Materials

– Toys and play equipment for the youngest children

Expected Impact

Your support will:

  • Improve the learning conditions and comfort of over 50 children
  • Provide proper nutrition to enhance concentration and physical growth
  • Strengthen the school’s infrastructure and ensure a safe environment
  • Bring joy, motivation and hope to the children and their teachers
  • Empower the next generation to take their first steps into a brighter future

Conclusion

By supporting Tripple “H” Infants School, you are investing in the education, health and happiness of children who deserve the opportunity to learn and thrive.
Together, we can make a meaningful difference and help these young learners build the foundation for a better tomorrow.
